The contenders for our men's Player of the Month award

Voting is now open for our supporters to select our men’s Player of the Month for January.

The start of 2025  saw us remain undefeated in the Premier League as well as secure a spot in the last-16 of the Champions League, and so there were a number of players who could have been shortlisted for the award, but we’ve narrowed it down to four.

Take a look at who made the cut below, and decide which is the most worthy winner:

Gabriel

Gabriel celebrates our opening goal against Tottenham

The Brazilian centre-back played every minute of our nine matches during a bumper month of fixtures, and some sterling work at the back saw us win five of those. Two clean sheets came his way in the successes against Dinamo Zagreb and Wolves, when he also captained the side in Martin Odegaard’s absence.

Big Gabi also made his 200th appearance for the club against Girona, and got on the scoresheet for the fourth time this campaign against Manchester United in the FA Cup. He also played a crucial part in our 2-1 win against Tottenham, as his header went in off Dominic Solanke to get us back on level terms.

Gabriel Martinelli

Little Gabi also featured in every match in January, and made an impact by grabbing a couple of goals. He got the new year off to a flyer when he drilled home against Brentford to seal the points in our 3-1 victory, and also tucked in against Aston Villa to hit seven goals for the campaign.

He also put in an excellent cross that was headed home by Kai Havertz during our 3-0 win against Dinamo Zagreb as he split his time between the left and right flanks. He also hit 200 Gunners games against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

David Raya

Our number one was between the posts for every match except our win against Girona, and he was superb again as he added another two clean sheets to his total, taking him to 13 for the campaign in all competitions, including five in seven Champions League games.

One of those shutouts came against Wolves when he made a brilliant stop to deny Matheus Cunha and earn a nomination for the Premier League’s Save of the Month award.

Declan Rice

Declan Rice celebrates scoring against Dinamo Zagreb

Declan was on the teamsheet for all nine matches across four competitions in January, and the highlight of his month was his first-ever Champions League goal when he stunned Dinamo Zagreb by firing home after just 104 seconds.

His industrious displays in the middle of the park helped us to claim five wins to stay in contention for the Premier League title and reach the last 16 in Europe, with his display at Wolves in particular catching the eye as no-one covered more distance, made more passes or created more chances while we battled to a win despite playing a man light.
