Vieira on improving and adapting to life in London

Having first pitched up at London Colney back in June, Fabio Vieira has taken the time to reflect on how he has changed as a player during his first few months at the club.

The Portuguese midfielder registered his fifth assist of the season at Aston Villa on Saturday to help clinch an important three points, and he feels he has improved massively on and off the pitch since swapping Porto for north London.

Speaking as part of In Focus interview series, he said: “I think my development has improved since I have been here. I feel like I’m a better player and I’m ready to go forward and help the team as much as I can.

“Life at Arsenal has been very good, I feel very good here and after six months I’m completely adapted. My adjustment was good; at the beginning, it was difficult because everything is different. It’s a new country, new people, new teammates - everything is new but now I feel really good here and ready to go forward.

“Now I can feel at home. My teammates have helped me a lot. I remember Cedric, Gabi Martinelli and Jesus spoke the same language which made things easy to talk to them, and they explained everything to me so they were very important.

“I didn’t know Gabi Martinelli before I came here, but after that we started to have a good friendship. He’s a good person with a good heart, and we felt a connection between us from the beginning.”
