U21s preview: Stoke City v Arsenal

stoke arsenal

After a two-week break, our under-21s are back in league action with a trip to the bet365 Stadium to face Stoke City. Kick-off is at 7pm (UK time).

It’s been a flawless start to the season for our under-21s, with league wins over Manchester United, Wolves, and Aston Villa, scoring 11 goals in total. Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has been in electric form, netting four goals and providing two assists, which earned him the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August. This impressive run has seen us climb to the top of the league.

In addition to our league form, we secured an impressive away win over League One side Leyton Orient in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, further highlighting our strong start.

A look at Stoke

Stoke City have endured a challenging start to the season, drawing one and losing two of their first three games. This includes heavy defeats to West Bromwich Albion (5-0) and Manchester United (4-1), leaving them third from bottom. However, they earned their first point of the campaign in a 1-1 draw with Leeds United.

We’ll also face a familiar face in former Arsenal under-18 goalkeeper Noah Cooper, who joined Stoke this summer after leaving our academy.
