Our Under-21s will be looking to secure consecutive away wins as we head across the capital to face Chelsea in an intense London derby on Friday, November 1. Kick-off at Kingsmeadow is set for 7pm (UK time).
We approach the match with confidence following our thrilling 4-3 victory over Blackburn Rovers last Monday. A brace from Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand, along with goals from Khayon Edwards and Andre Harriman-Annous, sealed the win.
Chelsea had a slow start to their league campaign, winning just one of their first five games. However, they’ve found form lately, claiming victory in four of their last five outings across all competitions. In the league, they’re on a two-game winning streak, having defeated Leicester City 3-1 and cruised past Fulham 6-0. They currently sit 11th in the table, with 10 points from seven matches. Their top scorer in the Premier League 2 is Jimmy Jay-Morgan, who has found the net four times this season.
In midweek, Chelsea fell 3-0 to League One side Charlton in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, placing them second in their group with one game remaining.
The last time we faced Chelsea at Kingsmeadow in the league, we came away with an impressive 4-2 victory, thanks to goals from Taylor Foran, James Sweet, Ethan Nwaneri, and a Zak Sturge own goal.
