Our young Gunners begin preparations for the 2024/25 season with a friendly match against Boreham Wood on Saturday, July 13, at Mangata Pay UK Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm (UK).
This will be the first chance to see Mehmet Aliβs exciting young squad in action, setting the stage for an action-packed season where we will compete in the Premier League International Cup for the first time alongside our regular league season in the Premier League 2.
Additionally, this match offers a glimpse of the newly promoted players who recently signed their first professional contracts, marking their transition to the under-21 team.
A look at Boreham Wood
Despite finishing in the play-off places in the 2022/23 season, Boreham Wood had a challenging year last season, resulting in their relegation after nine years in the National League. They will now compete in the National League South for the upcoming season.
However, with new manager Ross Jenkins at the helm, there is renewed optimism within the squad. This friendly match will provide a valuable test for our young Gunners, marking the first of six pre-season games.
We faced Boreham Wood at this same stage last year in pre-season, narrowly losing 2-1, with Jack Henry-Francis finding the back of the net for us.
