arsenal u19 v psg

Our under-19s will play their second fixture in the UEFA Youth League as we play host to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, October 1. Kick-off at Mangata Pay UK Stadium is set for 3pm (UK time).

Max Porter’s side will be looking to bounce back after we lost 4-1 to Atalanta in our opening game. However, it was a historic day for Max Dowman who became the youngest ever player to score in the competition aged 14 years, eight months, and 19 days.

A look at PSG

PSG will also be looking for a good result after they lost 2-0 to Girona in their first Youth League fixture.

Domestically, PSG’s U19 side competes in The Championnat National which is the highest tier of U19 football in the country and of which they are the 2023/24 reigning champions. They have won a record five Championnat National U19 titles.

They’ve started the 2024/25 campaign in fine form with five wins from six games scoring 12 and conceding just three goals.

Youth League History

We've faced PSG before in the UEFA Youth League during the 2016/17 group stages. Both encounters were tightly contested, resulting in a 0-0 draw in Paris and a thrilling 2-2 draw at home.

PSG have participated in every edition of the UEFA Youth League since the tournament's inception in the 2013/14 season. Their best performance came in the 2015/16 campaign when they finished as runners-up, narrowly losing 2-1 to Chelsea in the final. That PSG squad included future stars such as Christopher Nkunku, now a Chelsea forward, and Odsonne Edouard, currently at Leicester City.

In contrast, last season proved to be a disappointment for PSG as they were eliminated in the group stage. Despite securing two wins, they suffered four losses in their six group games, finishing at the bottom of their group.
