U19 Euros: Lionesses knocked out in semi-finals

Michelle Agyemang in action for the U19 Lionesses

Our young Gunners' U19 Euros journey has sadly come to an end following England's 3-1 loss to Spain on Wednesday.

Michelle Agyemang and Maddy Earl both started for the Young Lionesses against the tournament's reigning champions. Spain took a two-goal advantage into half-time thanks to Daniela Agote and Paula Comendador, but England responded straight after the second-half whistle.

In the 47th minute, Agyemang headed a free-kick on for Mia Enderby to slot home, giving the Lionesses a lifeline. Freya Godfrey, Vivienne Lia and Katie Reid all made appearances off the bench in the second half but the next breakthrough would come from Spain - extending their lead in the 68th minute.
