U18s preview: Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Palace preview

Our under-18s are back in U18 Premier League action with a trip to the Crystal Palace Training Ground on Saturday.

The weekend’s game against the Eagles will kick-off at 11am, and ahead of the game here is everything you need to know:

Previously…

We secured a 1-0 win at Middlesbrough last weekend, James Sweet’s 62nd-minute strike the difference between the two sides.

That win saw us go second in Group B of the U18 Premier League Cup.

As for league football, our last game came prior to the October international break - a 2-1 win at home to Leicester City - where we came from behind to win despite finishing the game with nine men.

That win left us sixth in the league with 11 points from seven games.

As for Palace

The Eagles came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 against Brighton & Hove Albion in their last game at the end of September, before suffering a 91st-minute equaliser to draw 3-3. Palace are currently seventh in the league, one position and three points below us, with two wins, two draws and two defeats.

Zach Marsh is the team’s top scorer this season having impressively scored three hat-tricks in three games, taking his total to nine goals.

Last time we met

We were beaten 4-3 at Crystal Palace on March 11 earlier this year. Seb Ferdinand opened the scoring for us in the third minute before Asher Agbinone equalised in the fifth.

Agbinone got his second moments later and Cormac Austin made it 3-1 to Palace before Osman Kamara reduced the arrears on the brink of half-time.

Michal Rosiak netted the equaliser for us early in the second half, but David Obou scored in the 87th minute to secure three points for the home side.

How to follow

We will be providing updates throughout the game on our Arsenal Academy Twitter page, and there will be a match report published on Arsenal.com after the final whistle.

We will also be sharing post-match interviews with Jack Wilshere and one of his young Gunners, as well as highlights of all the action.
