Team news: Timber and Merino return to face PSG

Mikel Merino in action against PSG

Mikel Arteta has made two changes from the weekend’s lineup to take on Paris Saint-Germain in France on Wednesday night.

Both Jurrien Timber and Mikel Merino return to the side – Timber missed our defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday entirely while Merino came off the bench.

Thomas Partey is also in the side after missing the first leg last week through suspension.

So Arteta has named the same team as for that first leg at Emirates Stadium – with the exception of Leandro Trossard, who makes way for Partey. Riccardo Calafiori is fit enough to take his place among the substitutes after missing the last ten games with a knee injury, and Jorginho is also on the bench after recovering from a chest injury.

We go into the match 1-0 down from the first leg, with extra-time and penalties a possibility if we are tied at the end of 90 minutes. A reminder that the away goals rule no longer applies, as we attempt to reach the final in Munich to take on Inter Milan.

The hosts, who made ten changes for their Ligue 1 match at the weekend, revert to the same XI that started the first leg – with the exception of Ousmane Dembele, who is on the bench. He is replaced by Bradley Barcola.
