Team news: Rice and Havertz start in Lisbon

Arsenal shirts in Sporting dressing room

Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli have all been recalled to the starting lineup for our Champions League meeting with Sporting CP.

All four were on the bench against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, though Partey came on for the second-half (and grabbed our second goal).

Mikel Merino, Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Jorginho all make way from that side that won 3-0 on Saturday.

It means David Raya continues in goal behind an unchanged back four. William Saliba becomes the 17th Frenchman to reach 100 appearances for us.

Martin Odegaard leads the side out again after missing all four of our Champions League matches so far, save for a late cameo at the end of our game against Inter last time out.

Kieran Tierney is back among the substitutes, if he comes on it will be first appearance for us since playing in the Community Shield at the start of last season.

As for the hosts, Viktor Gyokeres leads the line up front, having netted 24 goals from 19 appearances for his club so far this season.

Arsenal: Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Havertz. Subs: Neto, Setford, Tierney, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Lewis-Skelly, Merino, Jorginho, Sterling, Nwaneri, Trossard, Jesus.
