Team news: Martinelli back to face to Magpies

Gabriel Martinelli in action against Newcastle United

Gabriel Martinelli has been restored to our starting line-up for today’s game against Newcastle United, in our only change from Tuesday’s win against Chelsea.

Our top scorer started on the bench in midweek but gets a starting berth on Tyneside with Leandro Trossard named as a substitute.

That means that Gabriel has been deemed fit enough to play, having limped off towards the end of the 3-1 win against the Blues and had been a doubt, but will line up alongside Jakub Kiwior in the heart of our defence.

Newcastle have also made one switch to their team that beat Southampton 3-1 last Sunday, with Eddie Howe opting to field both Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak in attack.

Sean Longstaff misses out after failing to recover from his foot injury, while Allan Saint-Maximin is fit enough for a return to the bench where he is joined by Anthony Gordon who drops out to accommodate Wilson.

Newcastle: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn, Willock, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Murphy, Isak, Wilson.

Subs: Dubravka, Dummett, Lewis, Manquillo, Targett, Anderson, Gordon, Almiron, Saint-Maximin.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Xhaka, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Jesus.

Subs: Turner, Tierney, Holding, Partey, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Trossard, Nketiah.
