Team news: Kiwior makes debut against Sporting

The Arsenal changing room ahead of the game against Sporting CP

Mikel Arteta has made six changes to his starting line-up for this eveningโ€™s Europa League game against Sporting CP, with Jakub Kiwior handed his first-team debut.

The January signing comes into the heart of our defence in place of Gabriel, while Ben White returns at full-back instead of Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Jorginho is given the nod to start in midfield ahead of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka comes in for Martin Odegaard.

After netting the winner against Bournemouth on Saturday, Reiss Nelson is given a start in place of Leandro Trossard who suffered a groin injury against the Cherries, while the other change is between the posts as Matt Turner dons the gloves. Kieran Tierney misses out due to illness.

After being rested on the weekend, Jeremiah St. Juste, Matheus Reis, Francisco Trincao and Paulinho all return to the Sporting CP side as the four changes to the team that beat Portimonense on the weekend, but there is no room for Hector Bellerin who is not included in the matchday squad.
