Team news: Jesus starts, Saka drops to bench

Gabriel Jesus in action for arsenal against FC Zurich

Gabriel Jesus will make his first Premier League start since November in today’s game against Leeds United.

Bukayo Saka drops down to the bench to accommodate the Brazilian after struggling with illness over the past couple of days, in what is the only change to our side that beat Crystal Palace in our last league game before the international break.

Speaking about the tweak, Mikel Arteta said: “Bukayo wasn’t able to train yesterday as he wasn’t well but today he feels a little bit better so we’ve put Gabby in. He brings a lot of energy, quality, movement and chaos. He’s a player we’ve been missing and it’s good to have him back.”

Elsewhere, Rob Holding once again gets the nod to start at centre-back in place of the injured William Saliba, while Thomas Partey is fit to play after missing Ghana’s game against Angola earlier this week.

Javi Gracia has made four alterations to the side that beat Wolves 4-2 a fortnight ago, with injury victims Wilfried Gnonto and Max Wober replaced by Luis Sinisterra and Rasmus Kristensen respectively.

The other changes see Pascal Struijk replace Weston McKennie, while Crysencio Summerville is preferred to Patrick Bamford in attack.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, Trossard, Martinelli, Jesus.

Subs: Turner, Tierney, Walters, Kiwior, Jorginho, Smith Rowe, Vieira, Nelson, Saka.

Leeds: Meslier, Ayling, Koch, Kristensen, Firpo, Struijk, Roca, Harrison, Aaronson, Sinisterra, Summerville.

Subs: Robles, Cooper, McKennie, Gyabi, Rodrigo, Gray, Greenwood, Bamford, Rutter.
