Team news: Hein handed debut as one of 10 changes

Karl Hein in action for Arsenal under-21s

Mikel Arteta has made 10 changes to our starting XI for tonight’s Carabao Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, with Karl Hein handed his Gunners debut.

The Estonian shot-stopper gets his first taste of competitive first-team action for us, as only William Saliba retains his place from the side that beat Chelsea 1-0 on Sunday.

That means the likes of Fabio Vieira, Eddie Nketiah and Marquinhos all get starts, while Reiss Nelson gets another chance to impress following his recent brace against Nottingham Forest, while Rob Holding captains the side.

Roberto De Zerbi meanwhile has made eight alterations to his Seagulls side, with Jason Steele given a go between the posts instead of Robert Sanchez, and former Gunner Danny Welbeck starting up front.

Lewis Dunk, Moises Caicedo and Solly March are the only survivors from the weekend’s 3-2 win over Wolves.

Arsenal: Hein, Soares, Saliba, Holding, Tierney, Elneny, Lokonga, Vieira, Marquinhos, Nelson, Nketiah. Subs: Turner, White, Zinchenko, Gabriel, Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Jesus.

Brighton: Steele, Lamptey, Dunk, Colwill, Veltman, Sarmiento, March, Gilmour, Caicedo, Enciso, Welbeck. Subs: Sanchez, Estupinan, Webster, Turns, Moran, Gross, Mitoma, Undav, Ferguson.
