Team news: Arteta selects same XI from Chelsea win

Mikel Arteta giving his players a team talk during the win against Chelsea

Mikel Arteta has stuck with the same starting XI that claimed victory against Chelsea last week for this evening’s game against Wolves.

Having made 10 changes for the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, the boss has reverted to the same team that started the win at Stamford Bridge, meaning only William Saliba will start all three of our games in the past seven days.

Manchester City’s defeat against Brentford earlier today means we have the opportunity to move five points clear of our nearest rivals tonight, but regardless of what happens this evening we are guaranteed to be top of the table at Christmas for the first time since 2007.

Taking charge of the final game of his interim spell in charge, Steve Davis has opted to select Toti Gomes for his second appearance of the campaign, which could signal a shift in formation with fellow centre-backs Nathan Collins and Max Kilman also selected.

The caretaker manager made six changes for their cup victory against Leeds United on Wednesday, which leaves Collins, Kilman, Ruben Neves and Goncalo Guedes as the four players to have started the last three games.

Wolves: Sa, Semedo, Toti, Collins, Kilman, Bueno, B. Traore, Neves, Moutinho, A. Traore, Guedes. Subs: Sarkic, Ait-Nouri, Lembikisa, Mosquera, Ronan, Hodge, Nunes, Campbell, Podence.

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Partey, Xhaka, Odegaard, Saka, Martinelli, Jesus. Subs: Turner, Tierney, Cedric, Holding, Elneny, Vieira, Marquinhos, Nelson, Nketiah.
