STATSports are once again offering young, unsigned players a chance to be selected to play at Emirates Stadium via their performance data from the STATSports Arsenal Edition GPS Tracker.
Last May, the top-performing unsigned players using the GPS Tracker showcased their talent in front of Arsenal’s Academy staff, including our Under-18s headcoach Jack Wilshere and Lead Talent ID Co-Ordinator Steve Brown.
In a session that lasted 90 minutes, boys and girls were put through their paces by academy coach Aaron Clarke, including technical passing drills, small-sided games, and a penalty shoot-out.
If you’re good enough, your stats could get you selected for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
STATSports Head of Sports Science, Barry Watters said: “Last season we were really impressed by the standard of player that we were able to discover using their physical performance data, so all the players put on a really good show in front of the watching Arsenal Performance staff.
"With players across the globe using the STATSports Arsenal Edition tracker, we have high hopes that we’ll be able to identify more players who will catch the eye at The Emirates in 2023.”
Wilshere added: “When I was really young we didn’t have this technology, now all players can see their own data. So these young players have got even more of a chance to get noticed, because the numbers and the stats are there for clubs and scouts to see.”
What is the STATSports Arsenal FC Edition?
The GPS Tracker is based on the same technology used by our first team, academy sides, and women’s team – is the most essential piece of your kit bag. It will allow you to become fitter, faster, and you can compare your data with stars like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
Stats captured by the tracker include total distance, max speed, high-speed running, intensity and distance per minute. It will be these metrics that will get you spotted on the leaderboards and give you the chance to play in front of Arsenal’s staff.
