Spreading festive cheer in the community

Although our usual player visits were sadly not possible this year, we were still able to spread some festive cheer by delivering sacks of toys and Arsenal goodies for children at four local hospitals this week.

Our members of staff visited the Whittington, the Royal Free, Homerton and Barnet hospitals and were met outside by nurses from the children's wards who we were able to thank on behalf of the club for their hard work throughout this difficult year.

In addition, we delivered presents to Ambler Primary School on Blackstock Road and Elwood Children's Centre in Highbury. We were also able to host a Christmas Grotto at the Arsenal in the Community Hub for deserving children from four local primary schools which saw kids from each school receive Christmas presents, a stadium tour and a football session on the pitch.

Restrictions permitting, we will be hosting a Christmas Day dinner at The Hub for young people from Islington who have recently left the care system and Arsenal in the Community staff will also be delivering Christmas food hampers to care leavers who choose to remain at home.

We are also supporting the Crisis at Christmas homeless shelter in Camden as we have done in previous years.

Let's hope that next year will see a return of the traditional player visits!
