Things were looking decidedly gloomy at Emirates Stadium as we approached half-time trailing by two goals to our biggest rivals.
But right on the stroke of the interval, Alex Lacazette pulled a goal back with a fine finish - and we went on to draw the game.
Sokratis says that was the key moment in the game, although he felt that we had enough chances to claim all three points. This is what he told the media:
on the performance…
It was a very difficult game but in the second half we played very good and I think we had a big chance to win this game.
on Lacazette’s goal in the first half…
It was very important, I think in the first half we played good, we like to attack, we like to shoot. We would have like to have won this game, Tottenham are a very good team, they play well on the counter attack but in the second half I think we played much better.
on Unai Emery’s words at half time…
He said we played very good but we have to play with our heads and with our heart and [I believe] we did this in the second half and we were much better.
on his feelings at full time…
At the end of the game if you see the second half we are not happy because we had many more chances to win the game, but in the end it is better if we don’t lose. We would have liked to win this game but it is also important to get a point.
on the start to the season…
I think we’ve started the season good, last year the first games we did not win, so this year we are playing much better in our first games but we still have to improve. We have to work and there’s a long way to go.
