Sister Club focus: Newmarket Town FC

Arsenal Women

We work closely with 18 grassroots football clubs as part of our FA Women’s Super League Sister Club programme.

Our programme is one of the biggest in the country and the aim of our support is to get more girls playing football. Over the course of the season we will be focusing on a number of the clubs and sharing information on how girls can start playing football.

The latest club that we will be focusing on is Newmarket Town FC…

With age groups running from under-8s all the way up a senior team, Newmarket Town FC are a friendly club, whose focus is on player development and pushing players to be the best they can be. The end goal is to help players reach a platform of playing at a higher level.

“What is special about our club is the bond between everyone, from under-8s, right through to Ladies, there is a clear link, everybody supports each other,” said a club statement. “Ladies players come down to coach sessions, some of the teams have ladies players as managers. It’s a real feel good atmosphere.”

The club are currently recruiting players from under-8s to under-15s and are particularly looking for players in the latter category.

Training is held at Newmarket Town Football Club on 3G astro turf.
