Sister club focus: Berkhamsted Raiders

We work closely with 18 grassroots football clubs as part of our FA Women’s Super League Sister Club programme.

Our programme is one of the biggest in the country and the aim of our support is to get more girls playing football. Over the course of the season we will be focusing on a number of the clubs and sharing information on how girls can start playing football.

The latest club that we will be focusing on is Berkhamsted Raiders…

Berkhamsted Raiders Community Football Club is a registered charity and an FA Charter Community Standard Club.

“We operate to the highest standard set by the FA for junior football clubs. We encourage fair play, and sportsmanship, and we praise involvement, effort and performance more than results.”

Their recent awards include:

  • Herts and Greater London FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year 2016
  • UEFA European Grassroots Club of the Year - Silver Award 2015
  • National FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year 2014

“In 2017/18, we will provide sport for a record number of members - more than 1,000 boys and girls playing football in 80 teams from under-7 to under-18, plus a ladies team, a veterans team, senior team, and initiatives for walking football and inclusive football. Our fastest growing section is girls’ football - our priority in terms of the club’s development.”

They are always keen to hear from new, enthusiastic players who want to join the club at all age groups. They are specifically recruiting at under-8, under-10, under-12, under-13 and under-14 at the moment.

Training times:

U-7: Saturdays, 8.30am - 9.30am

U-8 to U-10: Mondays, 5pm - 6pm

U-11 to U-14: Mondays, 6pm - 7pm
