Bukayo Saka has won our 2023/24 Goal of the Season for his sensational strike against Nottingham Forest.
The winger netted against the Reds on the opening weekend, and that ultimately proved to be the strike deemed the overwhelming favourite by our fanbase, who cast their votes across all our channels to determine the victor, with Bukayo receiving 58% of the votes.
Every strike that won our club-wide Goal of the Month prizes were contenders, but Bukayo’s blockbuster, which was also nominated for the Premier League's August Goal of the Month award, topped the poll.
What proved to be the winner against Forest came in the 32nd minute at Emirates Stadium. William Saliba won the ball back as the visitors attempted to pass their way out of trouble after clearing a corner.
The Frenchman played a one-two with Thomas Partey before laying the ball off to our attacker, who took a touch to nudge the ball into a yard of space and hold off the attention of Orel Mangala.
Then Bukayo wrapped his left foot around the ball from the edge of the area, and unleashed a fierce shot that flew into the top corner past the outstretched hands of former teammate Matt Turner, to start his season with a bang.
