Bukayo Saka was once again on the scoresheet as England swept Senegal aside 3-0 to reach the World Cup quarter-finals.
Our attacker provided a neat finish from a Phil Foden centre on 57 minutes to wrap up the win for the Three Lions, after first-half goals from Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane had established a comfortable lead at the break.
Speaking to ITV post-match, he said: "It's an unbelievable evening, I'm smiling so much, I'm so happy. We've gone to the next round and we played so well, so it's a great night. The way we played as a team, we played some unbelievable football. If we can continue that, it's looking good for us.
"It means everything, I'm so happy to be able to help my team. I know how much we train and how much it means for us to go far in this competition. I'm so happy to score my first goal in the knockouts and I hope I can score a few more."
Bukayo was then replaced by Marcus Rashford on 65 minutes, with a spot in the last eight already secure, and Gareth Southgate admitted post-match he's been really impressed with his contributions so far.
"He [Saka] was excellent in our first two matches," said the England boss. "We think Marcus was also very good and it’s great to have him to be able to come into the game as it opens up.
"We’ve, of course, got an embarrassment of riches in that area of the pitch. But we’ve liked Bukayo’s performances and we think Phil [Foden] and him deserve their opportunity."
That was his third goal of the tournament so far, meaning only Kylian Mbappe has scored more in the competition with five to his name, and the PSG man is now set to face off against Bukayo on Thursday, December 10 after the French cruised to a 3-1 victory against Poland.
William Saliba was an unused substitute in that game, but will meet his Gunners colleagues Aaron Ramsdale and Saka at the Al Bayt Stadium, and the latter is already looking forward to the challenge.
"We know how good [Mbappe] is but we have an unbelievable coaching team," Bukayo added. "You can see the way by we played tonight, we have to believe they'll pick the right team and the right game plan for us to go there and win, because that will be our mentality."
