Rest in peace, Paul

Paul Marriner

Today we were saddened to hear of the passing of former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner at the age of 68.

An England international, Paul joined us in 1984 from Ipswich, scoring 17 goals in 70 games for the club during his three seasons in north London.

Speaking of his passing, Paul’s family said: “Paul lived a full life and was fortunate enough to represent a group of fantastic football clubs as well as his country, all of which meant the world to him.

“Anyone who knew Paul will attest to his fantastic sense of humour, his passion for life and his work. He will be sorely missed by everyone who was ever around him and by those close to him.”

Everybody at Arsenal sends their sincere condolences to Paul’s friends and family at this time.
