Another big game in the Barclays Women's Super League lies ahead for our Gunners as we hit the road once again, facing Manchester City, with a 12pm kick-off at Joie Stadium.
We’re aiming to get back to winning ways and secure a victory in the WSL that would see us move ahead of Manchester City in the table.
LAST TIME AROUND

Our Gunners took the lead early on, with Frida Maanum finding the back of the net, but former Gunner Vivianne Miedema equalised for the visitors just before the break. The Cityzens started the second half brightly, taking the lead just seven minutes in, but we fought back to level the score in front of a 41,000-strong crowd at Emirates Stadium, with Beth Mead stepping up to help secure a hard-earned point.
CLIMBING CITYZENS

Manchester City will be aiming for their ninth win of the WSL season as they look to bounce back from three losses, including a defeat to Everton. Gareth Taylor’s side will be confident following their impressive 4-2 victory over Aston Villa, where former Gunner Vivianne Miedema scored a brace.
The hosts have found the net 25 times in the league this campaign, with top scorer Khadija Shaw scoring nine in her 10 appearances. Our defence will need to be at its best to prevent them from adding to their tally, as we aim for our eighth clean sheet of the season. City’s potent attack will certainly test our backline, but we’ll be determined to hold firm and extend our own strong defensive record.
WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY

Taylor: "We have good options and it’s kind of working out what that week looks like. We’re not looking too far ahead, we have an important game on Sunday.
“I saw some good things at Villa last week. They’re always a difficult opponent so to put four past them is very impressive, and not many teams do that."
Slegers: "We’re preparing for this game now and it’s the only game that counts. Sunday’s the only game, but it’s going to be interesting to view that game and see how we prep for the second game [against City].
"The supporters mean a lot for us, it’s quite special what we have at Arsenal and how we’re together now as a club, as a staff, as players and not least the fans who mean a lot to us."
