Pictures: Third kit launch in Singapore

Arsenal fans in Singapore were the first to see our new third kit at an exclusive event on Friday.

First-team stars Hector Bellerin, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Alexandre Lacazette and Petr Cech unveiled the new kit at The Esplande, Singapore, where we are on our pre-season tour as part of the International Champions Cup.
Following the reveal, supporters were treated to a question and answer session with the players hosted by Nigel Mitchell. They were also able to join the players on a ‘shooting wall’ as well as the opportunity for pictures and autographs.
The new shirt comes in a modern green base colour with navy detailing, reminiscent of the 1982/83 ‘Bluebottle’ kit. The accompanying shorts are in the same colours while the socks are also green with four navy hoops circling them.

Arsenal and PUMA unveil third kit in Singapore

Together with our kit partner PUMA, we have officially unveiled our 2018/19 third kit at an exclusive fan event on our pre-season tour of Singapore.

Arsenal stars Hector Bellerin, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Alexandre Lacazette and Petr Cech revealed the new kit on stage at The Esplanade in front of excited supporters, and you can see some images and video from the event soon.

Our new shirt features a ‘W’ engineered into the shirt. The ‘W’ represents the attacking part of the famous WM formation introduced in the 1930s by Arsenal legend Herbert Chapman and is directly linked to the ‘M’ graphic from our new away shirt.

The shirt comes in a modern green base colour with navy detailing, reminiscent of the 1982/83 ‘Bluebottle’ kit. The accompanying shorts are in the same colours while the socks are also green with four navy hoops circling them.

The third kit was created using a seamless evoKNIT that provides a lightweight ‘second skin’ feel, designed to move in harmony with the player’s movements.

The new kit is on sale in now in all three Arsenal stores and online via Arsenal Direct.

Club announcement

Arsenal announce partnership with Acronis

We have announced a new global partnership with leading technology company Acronis as our Official Data Backup Partner.

The announcement happened at a special launch event in Singapore where the Gunners are on pre-season tour.

Acronis is a global leader in data protection and hybrid cloud storage. As part of the agreement, Acronis will deliver efficient and secure data protection for our data, which includes storage of every first-team and academy training session recorded at our training ground in Colney. This amounts to 8TB of data a year, the equivalent of 875 matches.

The partnership will run for three years and entitles Acronis to LED signage around the pitch at every home Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup match. They will also have presence on our interview backdrops and access to first-team players and legends to support Acronis’ aim to increase brand awareness globally.

In addition, Acronis will stage business-to-business events each year with the support of senior Arsenal executives. These events will take place across key Acronis markets with a view to developing relationships with potential partners, corporate customers, local providers and investors.

Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “As we enjoy another hugely successful pre-season tour in Singapore, we’re delighted to welcome Acronis into our family of official partners. Acronis are world leaders in data backup services and their advanced technology will ensure the club’s data is safe and secure. We look forward to working with Acronis and supporting them in their business growth plans.”

John Zanni, President of Acronis, said: “At the highest level of competition, data is a critical asset. The teams that understand its importance partner with Acronis to optimise their data management. Arsenal FC has been a leader in data use, which is why we are proud to be partnering with them. It shows that Acronis’ technology is perfectly suited to high-pressure, digitally intensive environments – even those that are always on the road. We are confident this partnership will benefit Arsenal, Acronis, and all our partners and customers.”

After another intense training session on Wednesday morning, our players took the afternoon off to take in some Singapore sights.

One group headed to Jurong Bird Park, where they fed penguins, held lorikeets and hornbills, and posed for a picture in front of one of the world's tallest man-made waterfalls.

Our club photographer joined Joe Willock, Emile Smith Rowe, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Jordi Osei-Tutu, Lucas Perez, Emi Martinez, Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny to send back these shots:

Unai Emery visits Emirates event

Unai Emery paid a special visit to an Emirates business lunch during day two of our pre-season tour to Singapore.

Between training sessions, our head coach joined chief executive Ivan Gazidis and chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham to address a number of Emirates guests at our team hotel.
Scroll down to read the full transcript of what he had to say:
Unai, how much are you enjoying your first tour and your first experience of Singapore?
Hello everybody. It’s the first time I’ve come here and the first time I’ve met you with the club. For me, all the people within the club and the people we’ve met here have been great with us. We’ve had a lot of good meetings and I want to give every Arsenal supporter a memorable experience that they can enjoy with us. I am improving my English but it’s still not the best! I can and I want to improve it. On my first day with Ivan I was speaking English for three hours, and I want to continue to get better. In a few months I want to be able to speak very, very clearly with you.
What have been your first impressions of Arsenal?
It’s great, it’s a big club. It’s got the history, the present and we want to create the future. Arsenal is a London club, an English club, but every day I am seeing Arsenal supporters around the world who identify with and enjoy watching this team. I am very excited, very happy, and we are very, very committed to you, to this club, the history and the present. Every day when I wake up, I have a big motivation to start the day with my work, with the fans, and the preparation for the start of the season. After our pre-season friendlies, we are going to play two big games and now we are getting closer to starting the first big match. Every player and member of staff is focused on starting the Premier League season against Manchester City.
How much are you looking forward to that first game against Manchester City?
Everybody who is working at this club is working towards that game and we want to play a good game for everybody. It’s a great rivalry and to start at Emirates Stadium against Manchester City is the first important focus for us. With all the energy of the players and the supporters, we know we can start the season with a big performance against a big team.
How would you describe your style of play?
Each match, you are looking for every player to transmit intensity, aggression, to show that they want to win and are prepared to work hard to win. We want to do that with style, with a personality, with protagonists on the pitch. We want every player to create things and find things when they’re on the ball. When we are without the ball, we also want to show ambition to recover the ball quickly. We want to demonstrate that not only in every match, but also in every training session. We want our players to be energetic, full of action with or without the ball and as protagonists on the pitch doing things.
