Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have the makings of a magical partnership.
That was an easy conclusion to draw after the Germany and Armenia stars joined forces to help us outclass Everton on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger enjoyed seeing his creative forwards in tandem and thinks Ozil and Mkhitaryan can be as effective as Ozil and Alexis were together.
“They look like they can play together,” said the boss.
“We had before this, Mesut and Sanchez, they had a privileged understanding but we can be creative, we can be mobile. Our game is based on that.
“In the first half we were quick, mobile, technically very sharp and we finished very well as well. Overall, the two new players integrated well into our game and they looked as if they had played for us forever.
“Our challenge, I think, is to find the balance. We are a very offensive team, we want to play that kind of football, but we have to find the balance between attacking and defending and that will certainly be our challenge between now and the end of the season.”
Aaron Ramsey will also get his share of the headlines after a fine hat-trick - his first for the club.
“I felt always - when I watched the games after on the video - you think always that he is there in a good position in the box and I felt always that he had between 10 and 15 goals at least in his locker,” said Wenger.
“He didn’t do it until now because I think he rushed, sometimes, with his finishing. He looks much calmer. The only difference I see is that he doesn’t rush it. That’s why maybe, that’s the secret to being efficient."
