Thirteen of our players will soon be back in action on international duty, with silverware and crucial qualifying points up for grabs.
Jorginho will be aiming to add another European medal to his collection after he was named in Italy’s squad for the Nations League finals next week.
After winning their Nations League group, the Italians will have the chance to add to their Euro 2020 triumph when they face Spain in the semi-final on Thursday, June 15 in the Netherlands.
Should they come out victorious, Jorginho’s side will face either the hosts or Croatia in the final three days later, or could feature in the third-place play-off earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, there are a host of Euro 2024 qualifiers taking place, and Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka have been included in the England squad for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.
The Three Lions’ will be aiming to maintain their 100 per cent start to qualifying after they beat Italy and Ukraine back in March when they travel to Malta on Friday, June 16, before the clash against North Macedonia three days later at Old Trafford.
Two Gunners will go head-to-head when Martin Odegaard’s Norway tackle Kieran Tierney’s Scotland in Oslo. Following their stunning win against Spain, the Scots will aim to continue their perfect start to qualifying, while Odegaard’s team will be aiming to improve on their solitary point so far. Our duo then have home games against Georgia and Cyprus respectively three days after their encounter.
Also with two wins from two are Switzerland, for whom Granit Xhaka could take a step closer to becoming their all-time record cap holder as the Swiss skipper has been selected for their qualifiers against Andorra and Romania.
Jakub Kiwior has been named in Poland’s squad for their fixtures against Germany and Moldova - the first being a friendly against the Euro 2024 host before they aim to secure a second win of the group stage away at Moldova.
Goalkeeper Karl Hein, meanwhile, will feature for Estonia in their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Belgium, Azerbaijan and Austria, while Alex Runarsson’s Iceland have home games against Slovakia and Portugal.
Outside of Europe, three of our players have been included in the USA’s squad for the Concacaf Nations League finals, taking place in Las Vegas. Folarin Balogun joins Matt Turner and Auston Trusty for the first time, having pledged his international allegiance to the States and could make his debut in their semi-final meeting with Mexico.
They’ll then take on Panama or Canada in either the third/fourth place play-off, or in the final as the US aim to retain their title.
There are also AFCON qualifiers taking place, and Thomas Partey will be heading to Madagascar, knowing a win for the Black Stars will see them take a massive step toward reaching the finals in Ivory Coast next January.
