Our guide to the U18 Premier League Cup

PL Cup preview

Ahead of Saturday’s quarter-final against Manchester United under-18s, here is everything you need to know about our involvement in the U18 Premier League Cup so far.

We were drawn into Group B at the start of the season and began our campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham United. Harrison Dudziak scored our only goal of the game after the Hammers had been reduced to 10 men.

That was followed by a 1-0 win away to Middlesbrough courtesy of a goal from James Sweet, before we got our second win of the group stages with a 2-1 victory away to Derby County, Dudziak and Ismeal Kabia our goalscorers that day.

Those results saw us finish second in the group, level on seven points with West Ham but with a lower goal difference.

United, meanwhile, only earned six points but finished top of Group F following a 4-1 win over Reading, 1-0 loss away to Wolverhampton Wanderers and 5-1 win at Southampton.

While we’re third in the U18 Premier League South ahead of this fixture, United are top of the U18 Premier League North with 14 wins from 14 games, taking maximum points to go 17 points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
