Martin Odegaard has been crowned our men’s Player of the Season for the second time in succession.
Our skipper has retained the award he won in 2022/23, receiving 33% of all the votes cast by our supporters to top the poll once again thanks to his superb exploits in leading us to within touching distance of the Premier League title.
Declan Rice came in second place, while William Saliba finished third.
Martin becomes only the fifth player in our history to win the illustrious accolade in back-to-back seasons, following in the legendary footsteps of Liam Brady, Ian Wright, Thierry Henry and Bukayo Saka - find out more about the award's history.
The Norwegian was sensational in the middle of the park last season, playing in 48 of our 52 matches in all competitions, scoring 11 times and laying on 11 further assists. 10 of those came in the Premier League, bettering his tally from last term by three.
His season began with four goals in his first 10 matches, which also saw him lift the Community Shield at Wembley courtesy of a penalty shootout win over Manchester City when he led the way by converting our first spot-kick. He also netted from 12 yards to beat Crystal Palace in August, and in our 3-1 success against Manchester United that got our campaign off to a flying start.
He would also hit the goal trail in the spring with four strikes in nine appearances between February and April keeping us in the hunt for the championship, and showed his incredible ability to create something from nothing with an astonishing assist that allowed Leandro Trossard to break down a stubborn Porto defence and help us into the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in 15 years.
Martin’s creativity ensured that he created more chances from open play than any other player in the Premier League this season (88), while only four players covered more ground in the division than the 401km our captain amassed in his 35 league appearances.
Unsurprisingly, he was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season, and picked up our Player of the Month award for December, the same month he completed a century of Premier League appearances. His 150th Arsenal game was one to remember as he skippered us to success at Tottenham Hotspur for the second season in a row - both of which have now seen him selected as our star performer.
