Nwaneri helps England win 2025 U21 Euros

Ethan Nwaneri, Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Omari Hutchinson hold the U21 European Championship trophy

Ethan Nwaneri was an extra-time substitute as England defeated Germany 3-2 to retain the European Under-21 Championship.

Harvey Elliott and former Hale End product Omari Hutchinson gave the Young Lions a 2-0 lead before Nelson Weiper pulled one back just before half-time. Paul Nebel then levelled on 61 minutes to send the game to extra-time in Slovakia.

Ethan was introduced for James McAtee at the start of extra-time, as Jonathan Rowe headed in Tyler Morton's cross two minutes later to hand Lee Carsley's side back-to-back Euro U21 titles.

Our attacker featured in all six matches during the tournament, starting on two occasions, and he was one of three of our academy products to pick up a medal, alongside Hutchinson, who is now at Ipswich Town, as well as Geona's Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Celebrate Ethan's Euro success by grabbing his new number on the back of our 2025/26 home jersey!
