Nobbs on the final, captaincy and Foord

Jordan Nobbs is desperate to maintain our dominance in the Continental Tyres League Cup on Saturday.

Our No 8 is one of the most decorated players in the English game - and this weekend she’ll have the opportunity to lead the team out as captain against Chelsea.

on what it would mean to her to captain us in a final…

To wear the Arsenal shirt anyway is a privilege, and obviously it’s my 10th year at the club, so whenever I get to follow in the footsteps of Jayne Ludlow, Kim Little, Kelly Smith and Alex Scott is an absolute honour. To be a part of that and Joe’s squad makes it such a great place to be, and if I could wish for anything from my career, I’d do exactly the same as I’ve done because I’ve enjoyed every minute of being at Arsenal.

on how Caitlin Foord has settled in so far…

She’s been a breath of fresh air, even in training with her work ethic. She wants to play little short balls and runs in behind, and she’s obviously a powerful player. To perform like she did at the weekend with very few training sessions under her belt shows what a key part of our squad she’ll be and what a great asset she’ll be for Joe to work with.

on missing our last Conti Cup final through injury…

I want to win trophies for this club and the Continental Cup final seems to be one we like to win. I’ll just be going out there with the same mentality as always. I want to be part of every game and cup finals are obviously the most important.

on the importance of maintaining our winning culture with another trophy this season…

It’s key for Arsenal Football Club. If we’re not winning trophies, then we’re not in the place we want to be. We’re a club that’s created history and the reason for that is that we want to win, and we want to win everything. That will continue whenever we we’re wearing Arsenal shirts, and that will continue on Saturday as well.
