Ramsey - Tour games so encouraging

Aaron Ramsey says Arsenal’s superb performances on the Asia Tour bode well ahead of the new season.

The Gunners have been in free-scoring form so far, beating an Indonesia Dream team 7-0 before their 7-1 defeat of Vietnam in Hanoi on Wednesday.

"Even though it's pre-season, we still had to win our games and we've done that - and we've scored seven in both"

Ramsey accepts bigger challenges await Arsene Wenger’s men, but is pleased that they are warming up for the new campaign in such thrilling fashion.

“Even though it's pre-season, we still had to win our games and we've done that - and we've scored seven in both,” he told Arsenal Player. “That's encouraging and hopefully we can carry on getting the workouts we need and also get the result.

“I think we have a very good team spirit now. Everyone understands each other and gets on with each other. There are no rifts between anybody so it's good. This is encouraging for the new season.

“We've had two games where we've won quite comfortably. Even though it is about getting the workout, it will be harder against these Japanese teams and even more of a workout. That will benefit us even more.”
