Podolski - I'm back, fit and ready

Lukas Podolski feels close to finding his best form and is ready to help Arsenal compete for major honours this season.

The Germany international was sidelined for four months with a hamstring injury he suffered against Fenerbache in August, but has scored four goals on his return to the side including two against Coventry City on Friday night.

Podolski found it hard to be out for almost half a season and says it was important to train hard to get his sharpness back.

"You are always happy when you play and score goals for the team"

"It was a long time for me because I never had a long injury before," he told Arsenal Player.

"It was not easy, you work hard, you train hard and finally you're back. I don't know if I'm 100 per cent but I think I played very good today and we'll see in the next week.

"You are always happy when you play and score goals for the team so it was good for me, good for the team and important in the end to be in the next round.

"In the second half they [Coventry] had fight and they had chances so it's not easy against lower league teams.

"It was important we did the job, we are in the next round now and I on Sunday is the next draw so we will wait for the next game in the FA Cup."
