Thierry Henry signs for Arsenal

On this day in 1999, Arsenal completed the signing of a French forward going by the name Thierry Henry.

It proved to be a masterstroke. In his first spell at the Club, the Frenchman won two League titles, three FA Cups, four Golden Boots, five Player of the Year awards and became Arsenal's record goalscorer.

Henry returned on loan in 2012 and marked his arrival in style, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Leeds United before signing off with a last-minute winner against Sunderland.
