It’s the final day of our manga series - and we end with the boss!

It is hugely popular, appealing to people of all ages and every level of society and the industry is worth hundreds of billions. It also has a significant worldwide audience and is especially popular in Europe, the Middle East and the United States.

"The brief was to reflect his job in some way, and either to show him as ‘The Professor’ as he's sometimes dubbed by the media or as a Samurai warrior"

Throughout the week we have been revealing some very special designs of the Arsenal squad, featuring Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

The idea behind it was to commemorate our tour games in Japan later this month with a series of animations of some of the biggest stars in the Arsenal squad.

We worked with artist Morgan Lewis, who spent between 12 and 15 hours on each design - each featuring a different type of manga. Her final creation is of Arsene Wenger, and the task facing her was encapsulate his character in her design.

“The brief was to reflect his job in some way, and either to show him as ‘The Professor’ as he's sometimes dubbed by the media or as a Samurai warrior,” she says. “To me, Samurai represent discipline, wisdom, and authority - all vital in managing a football team and qualities I associate with Arsene Wenger in particular - so I tried to show those qualities in the character's pose and expression.”
