Arsenal Ladies manager Shelley Kerr spoke to the media after her side completed a 6-2 aggregate win over Glasgow City on Wednesday to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Here's a transcript of what she had to say:

on the performance…
I felt it was a really difficult game for us. Glasgow City made it extremely difficult for us. I think the result from the first leg made Glasgow City come out and go at us but we were expecting that. We're disappointed to concede two goals from set plays because it's something that we know Glasgow are very good at. But overall we are obviously delighted to be in the quarter-finals.

on the belief in the team that they can go all the way in the Champions League…
I think that what we have to do is obviously evaluate. It's been a long season and that was our last game of the season so just now we'll enjoy the moment before we think too far ahead of ourselves.

on whether she was surprised to get the winning goal at the end…
Not really. We were 3-0 up from the first leg and I think that we've got a lot of experience as players and some of the players have been at the Club for a long time. So they have got the character to go all the way and you could see that at the end by getting the goal to win the game. I think Glasgow do that predominantly in Scotland - they are a team that have got winners and they are used to winning and you get that bit of character in your team. We've got the same and I think that showed in the end.

on her assessment of the season…
It has been a long, hard season. I think that in England other teams are bridging the gap and we need to move forward. Arsenal have never signed a foreign player so that's maybe something that we'll look to do. There's been players at this club for a long, long time and they've been very successful. We've been very successful as a club but sometimes you then need to look at the future and perhaps we need to look at rebuilding.

on whether there is any specific areas the team need to improve on…
I think this competition requires you to be the very best and I think you need to strengthen all positions because you need competition. I think every player needs to be challenged so it's important that you have a really good squad of talented players so we'll evaluate and have a look. We've already been doing that this season, the transfer window only allows you to bring in players at certain times. But for me it's been fantastic working with a talented group of players. We've won the domestic double and we've lost one game domestically all season in such a really competitive league. Now we find ourselves in the quarter-finals of the Champions League so overall my assessment is that we've done very well.
