Jack Wilshere insists Arsenal's Champions League win against Marseille is "only a start" as they look to progress from Group F.

Second-half goals from Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey were enough to give the Gunners a crucial away victory and they now face two home games against Napoli and Borussia Dortmund in October.

"If we do win both of those games then being on nine points with three games left will be a good position to be in."

But the England midfielder said the Gunners still have a lot of work to do if they are to qualify.

"It's a great start but we know it's only a start because it's a tough group," Wilshere said. "We've got two home games now with Napoli and Dortmund and they are difficult teams but if we play to our full potential with our home fans behind us then we should be able to win both of those games.

Wilshere was also full of praise for his fellow midfielder Ramsey, who netted his sixth goal in as many games on Wednesday night.

"He's done really well and you get that feeling that he's going to score in every game. Even towards the end of the game he gets forward because he is so fit and every shot he takes now seems to go in.

"I'm really happy for him, we gave him a bit of stick before when he didn't score many but he's playing really well now and we're all happy for him."
