Jack - If you can't win, don't lose

Jack Wilshere says Arsenal's draw against Everton was a positive result in the context of the Premier League weekend.

Arsene Wenger's side opened up a five-point lead over their closest rivals despite conceding a late equaliser at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

But Chelsea's defeat at Stoke City, coupled with Manchester City's draw at Southampton, means Arsenal have strengthened their position in the title race.

"I think before the game you would take a point considering the weekend [results]"

"I think before the game you would take a point considering the weekend [results]," Wilshere told Arsenal Player.

"If you can't win the game, don't lose the game. But when we go 1-0 up we expect to win the game, especially when there is eight or so minutes to go. We're disappointed with that, but overall we'll take a point.

"I'd say [Everton have been our toughest opponents this season]. We played Tottenham here as well which was a tough game, but Everton always come here and they do well.

"I remember last year [against them] it was probably our toughest game as well, we drew 0-0. They're a strong team, they've got a new manager as well so they play a different way but they're still just as strong. They took the game to us in the first half."
