Steve Gatting spoke to Arsenal.com after his side came from behind to defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 at Underhill on Tuesday night.
on the win…
It was a welcome victory for us. The conditions were difficult out there and dictated the way both sides played. They got behind the ball. We tried to play forwards but it wasn't really an Arsenal-style performance. It was difficult to play out there. It was bobbly, hard and windy and we thought we'd play forward quickly.
on conceding early in the second half again…
We mentioned it at half-time. We tried to get in their half and we did that. We had good possession of the ball by the corner flag, lost possession and ended up with them scoring from a cross.
on a good response to going behind…
I thought in the second half we had the better chances and played the better football. We got into wide positions, put some good crosses in and full credit to the boys because they kept going.
on the team's character…
The boys always try. We kept pushing forward and at times looked dangerous. After the first goal, we thought we could win it.
on Bellerin's winner…
He's got that ability. He's a dangerous player going forward. That's his strength. He's always capable of that.
on going into the final game of the season…
It will be a tough game against Liverpool. There will be a few changes for that game but it's nice to come away with this win against Wolves.
