Arsenal defenders Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson made some supporters’ days recently by dropping in with surprise visits.
Organised with the Club’s membership scheme to launch its rewards programme, the players visited Stacie Cherry - a supporter working in Hertsmere Council’s office in Borehamwood - Jo Rowntree and Lisa Evans, teachers at Meryfield Primary School and Joe Parsons, a fan at Radlett train station.
With the defenders handing over membership packs for the new campaign and signed home shirts as impromptu rewards for the fans’ support, Stacie, Jo, Lisa and Joe had a unique story to tell friends and family.
The surprise visits coincide with the Club announcing a new rewards scheme for its members, with monthly experiences up for grabs through www.arsenal.com/membershiprewards. Members simply need to register their interest in receiving a reward each month, with the chance to meet their Arsenal heroes, win match tickets and - thanks to Club partner Indesit - the opportunity to attend a Ligue 1 match at PSG up for grabs next month with all travel and accommodation included.
Stacie Cherry said: “I have been an Arsenal fan for as long as I can remember and a member since the Emirates opened. Unfortunately I was only able to go to Highbury once or twice. I generally started going to home games, but over the years I have been a part of the away support - I’ve been to most Premier League grounds around the country and have racked up about 12 Champions League away games.
“Anyone who knows me will know that I’m all about Arsenal. It’s not just a hobby for me, it’s an obsession! I love my club and there’s no greater feeling than going to support my boys when I can. When Gibbsy and Jenkinson came to my work I had the shock of my life! To turn around whilst working and seeing them approaching me was a very surreal moment, but one I will treasure for the rest of my life. They were really friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy surprising me and saying thank you for my support.”
To take part in the Club’s new Membership Rewards programme, fans have the option to sign up to a range of Membership packages. Launched this season, the Club’s Digital Membership offering enables the fans to receive regular news from the Club and watch exclusive video content on the Arsenal Player platform for absolutely free.
Alternatively starting from £26, Red level membership provides fans with great benefits, including priority ticket access to every Barclays Premier League home fixture at Emirates Stadium. There is also unlimited access to Arsenal Player, access to events with the manager and first-team squad in attendance, and a membership welcome pack which includes an exclusive Arsenal member’s scarf with special membership embroidery, the Club’s official handbook and The Arsenal Foundation Collection book, packed with incredible life stories and images from Arsenal first-team players and legends. Even the staunchest Arsenal fan will discover something new. The pack also features a selection of button badges of Arsenal’s club crest throughout its history and a special two-for-one Stadium Tour offer.
