The first round of June internationals took place on Thursday night, with two of our first-team players in action.
Scroll down to see how they performed:
Alex Iwobi was instrumental in Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Togo, claiming two assists in Paris. It only took the 21-year-old three minutes to set up Ahmed Musa’s opener when his dangerous cross caused havoc in the box, and the two linked up again 15 minutes later to double Nigeria’s advantage. Kelechi Iheanacho added a third before half-time, and Iwobi was withdrawn after 70 minutes with the Super Eagles cruising to victory.
Granit Xhaka was also on the winning side on Thursday night as Switzerland beat Belarus 1-0 in an international friendly. The 24-year-old came on in the 65th minute to help his country see out the win after Xherdan Shaqiri had given them a first-half lead with a stunning 25-yard strike.
