Hector Bellerin started his career as an attacking player, so perhaps it’s no surprise that he looks so at home as a wing-back.
With the added security of a third centre back in our 3-4-3 system, Bellerin has the freedom to push on. He demonstrated that on Sunday with a goal and a display of vim and vigour on the right flank.

“It is [tailor-made for him],” Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com. “We have a team who can express the strength of many players in their positions.
“You could see that Ozil is blossoming as well, Alexis, Welbeck and Giroud are all doing well. Overall, it’s great to see that the team is responding very well.
“They have played well and are focused, together, the speed and the quality of our game is great. The team has moved forward well and it’s a pleasure to watch.
“The negative of the day is that we are not qualified for the Champions League and that we lost two centre backs on the same day, a position where you do not expect to lose people. That’s disappointing.
“But overall, I still give a huge credit to the players because what they’ve done is absolutely fantastic. They did fight until the end.
“You would want to think that the players have learned from this difficult period we have gone through and have responded very well. I personally believe that it’s important to keep this group of players together, and they will come back stronger next season.”
