When Stoke pulled a goal back via Peter Crouch’s hand on Saturday, we needed to dig deep to pull off the win we needed.
That is exactly what we did as we held off the home side’s onslaught, and scored further goals through Alexis and Olivier Giroud to wrap up a big three points.

- Bellerin - We were playing for our lives
- 'I'll be a big fan of West Ham now!'
Rob Holding was closer than most to Crouch’s goal, and he told the media his view of it after the game:
on showing character after Peter Crouch’s…
He got that goal and their fans got a bit louder, so we showed a bit of character to stay in the game when they had seven corners in a row. We just had to withstand it and then score more goals on the break to polish it off.
on whether they were aware of handball…
I didn’t see it go in, but I saw some of the lads shouting and waving their arms about. It went in but we got the result, so it doesn’t matter.
on playing at three at the back…
I enjoy it, getting on the ball a bit more and you have a bit more safety with the other two there. It plays into the way that I play because I like to be on the ball and move it forward. It’s been going well so hopefully it continues.
on whether he’ll have a West Ham scarf on for the Liverpool game…
I had it on when they won against Tottenham, so I’m sure I’ll have it on again tomorrow!
