'We trust in the quality of our players'

When the time is ticking down, frustrations are rising inside the stadium and it looks like there is no way through, it can be tough to remain patient.

But that is exactly what we did against Leicester City on Wednesday night - and were rewarded with a late, deflected winner.

Nacho Monreal was the man whose shot struck Robert Hutch and flew into the bottom corner, and afterwards he hailed the team’s relentless attitude.

“We had many chances to score but we missed and we knew that it was going to be a difficult game,” he told Arsenal Player. “They are playing much better than before, they are a strong team again. But finally we scored a goal, we got the three points, and that is the most important thing.

“We had to be patient, we trust in the quality of our players and we knew that at any moment we could score a goal. We scored when there were only five minutes until the end of the game, but we were really happy for the three points.

“I don’t know if it was my goal, or an own goal, but I don’t mind! The most important thing is we won, we got the three points and we have to keep fighting until the end of the season.”
