Fans' fun day success

We ran our first Family Festival on Sunday in Borehamwood, giving local people and our supporters the chance to meet players, staff and take part in fun activities.

First-team players Jordan Nobbs, Danielle Carter, Leah Williamson, Heather O'Reilly, Sari van Veenendaal, Kim Little and Emma Mitchell attended the event, signing autographs and posing for photographs with Ladies' fans.

Football's equality and inclusion organisation, 'Kick It Out' were in attendance along with sand art craft stalls and Hertsmere Fire and Rescue, whilst fans also pitched themselves against the players in the inflatables speed cage and target shoot to win signed prizes.

Borehamwood Town Mayor, Councillor Clive Butchins, also attended and chatted with Scottish internationals Kim Little and Emma Mitchell, before the team headed in for an open training session at Meadow Park.

Fans were then privy to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how the team train, watching an hour-long session run by Pedro Martinez Losa and his coaching team.

At the end of the session, players from platinum Arsenal Ladies FA WSL Sister Club ICA Sports were invited onto the pitch to play in five-a-side games with some of the first team.

Pedro Martinez Losa said: "We were of course disappointed not to be playing our first Spring Series game today, however we have managed to arrange a fun event for the fans and the players have enjoyed interacting with their fans and hearing their excitement for the Spring Series."

Everyone at Arsenal Ladies would like to thank the fans, players and guests that attended the fun day and a gallery of images from the day can be found on our Facebook page.
