Arsène Wenger was asked questions about a number of topics in his pre-Manchester City press conference on Thursday.
They included his future and the impact of substitutes - and here's how he answered:
- 'This is a decisive period for us'
- Team news: Cech, Cazorla, Ozil, Lucas
- Get the latest news on Alexis
- 'Football is scared to move forward'
on Arsenal and Manchester City substitutes scoring most goals and the importance of that…Well of course I believe that when I say to you to be on board that we had the highest number of goals scored from substitutes in the league. Recently it has not so much worked for us on that front but we have to find this quality back. It’s explainable by the fact that I, like Man City, have top-quality strikers on the bench usually and that they have an impact when they come on.
on if we will find out his future soon…Not today but I'm very clear in my mind. But anyway, do I stay two months or two years? My commitment will be exactly the same. The time I spent here does not influence my attitude at all.
on whether he thinks the delay in announcing his decisions is causing instability at the club…No. The priority in life is always to focus on what is important and not to look for excuses. At the moment our results are not going the way we want, but as well we have to make sure that the priority for us is what happens on the pitch. Being professional is to perform on the football pitch and not to find escape excuses where I think there are not.
