Positive Futures enjoy half-term treat

Last week, participants from our Islington based Positive Futures programme took part in a number of tournaments and activities over the half-term holidays.

On Monday, young people from our Corker Walk and Westbourne sites took part in an Arsenal in the Community tournament at Rosemary Gardens. The day involved 12 different teams split over two different age groups. The afternoon saw 120 young people taking part.

On Thursday the Under 18’s group from the Corker Walk project in Andover Estate competed against a community team from Luton Town.

This game allowed both sides to take part in a competitive fixture against another football league club.

We also welcomed families from our Westbourne project to Emirates Stadium. The families enjoyed a special visit the stadium, where they enjoyed a behind the scenes Emirates Stadium tour.

Anthony Prodroumou, who leads our Positive Futures programme said: "It was a fantastic week of opportunity for our groups to have fun and to be rewarded with experiences like the stadium tour.

"the participants played well all week, so it was great to offer them a treat with their families; they loved taking photographs in areas that their heroes prepare for games and it’s these experiences that they will remember in years to come."
