Loan Watch: Campbell assists

Joel Campbell at Sporting Lisbon

Joel Campbell played the second half of Sporting Lisbon’s 2-1 loss at Benfica. Eduardo Salvio opened the scoring for the hosts, before Raul Jimenez doubled the lead. Bas Dost then pulled one back, with Campbell setting up the goal.

Calum Chambers played the full 90 minutes as Middlesbrough lost 1-0 to Southampton. Sofiane Boufal’s goal decided the game.

Jack Wilshere came on in the 59th minute as Bournemouth lost 3-2 to Burnley at Turf Moor. Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward gave the hosts a two-goal lead, before former Gunner Benik Afobe found the net just before half-time. George Boyd then extended the Clarets’ lead, before Charlie Daniels’ late consolation.

Tafari Moore played 90 minutes for Utrecht II as they lost 4-2 to Cambuur. Martijn Barto and Sander van de Streek put Cambuur into a two-goal lead, before Myenty Abena and Gyrano Kerk found the net to level the scores. However, Barto put Cambuur back in front before Erik Bakker’s penalty kick secured the win.

Kelechi Nwakali played the full 90 minutes and scored his first senior goal as Maastricht won 2-0 against De Graafschap. Thomas Verheijdt opened the scoring with a penalty, before Nwakali struck in injury time at the end of the second half. Stefan O’Connor was not involved.
