Following Monday night’s draw, we can now confirm the date of our Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Preston North End at Deepdale.
Our first meeting with Preston in over 17 years will be played at 5.30pm on Saturday, January 7, 2017 and will be shown live on BT Sport 2.
We last met the Lilywhites in October 1999, with strikes from Nwankwo Kanu and Stefan Malz seeing us emerge as 2-1 victors in a League Cup third-round tie at Highbury.
Should this season’s third-round tie result in a draw, the replay will be played on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, kick off 7.45pm (subject to TV selection).
