'It's the energy I've never had'

Theo Walcott found the net yet again on Saturday, scoring twice in the 3-2 win over Swansea City at Emirates Stadium.

Now with five Premier League goals to his name after the opening eight games of the season, the England international took time to reflect on his impressive start.

Read on to find out what he had to say post-match:

on being on top form...
I am happy with the goals. I’m happy with the general play and defensive play as well, perhaps even more than the forward part of my game. I already know how well I can go forward, but there’s also other bits to do and I’ve been doing that this season.

on whether he's taken a big step forward...
I think it’s the biggest step forward I’ve taken this season. It’s the biggest piece of energy which I’ve never had before. I don’t know what that is, but I’ve been working really hard on that, in the summer and with a personal trainer - all little things which add up. It seems to be going well at this moment in time and I’m enjoying playing football.

on whether he's aiming for his 100th Arsenal goal this season... (currently on 92)
It would be nice, obviously. It’s a long season ahead. I’d be very disappointed if I don’t make that but then again I’d rather the team performs and we win something rather than a personal goal. That’s my main goal. If I try to do my best for this team hopefully the team can benefit. I’m looking too far ahead here which I don’t like to do but there’s some good signs already.
